What have we been doing?

Another Greek Odyssey.

Reflections on another Greek trip

So..it's been a while since I posted anything but that's because we've been away  in Greece yet again!  We left at the end of June and had a lovely journey through France, a bit of Belgium, Luxembourg, France again. down through Italy then caught the ferry from Ancona to Patras. We spent a while at Camping Aginara- a favourite site, a few days at Methoni, another favourite , then we spent all of the rest of our time in Greece at Camping Thines in Finikounda.

We didn't set out to stay a long time on one site, but circumstances influenced our decisions. Pete's mum was taken into a home where she was really poorly and we knew before we left England that she was in decline. That meant that we should stay somewhere where we could leave the motorhome safely and in easy reach of an airport. Camping Thines fulfilled those requirements with the added bonus of the wonderful family who run the site being so helpful and kind. We also had visits from friends from England,Greece and Russia, and friends who came with us last year, came out for my ( significant) birthday. Sadly Pete's mum died at 98 years old and we returned , but having had an amazing time. Thank you to all the wonderful people we met and those we knew already for making this holiday so super.

  1. Beautiful and sunny pictures, thanks you so much for sharing them. Brought me back to my summer in 2015 when I went to Greece for the first time. It literally became a breking point in my life, since then I'm only thinking and planning to get Greek residence permit for starters and settle there. Wish me luck!

    1. Thank you! I wish you lots of luck. I would love to live in Greece but for now we have some responsibilities that mean we need to be here. I adore Greece and Greek people and we are made so welcome. Hoping you have a wonderful new life!
